An Open Letter Regarding Running and Regalia

(Palo Alto, CA) – Laaker.com is known largely for its recupe of two parts journalistic integrity and one part shameless self-promotion. Thus departing from this family secret for a whopping three parts plugging, Laaker.com founder Micah Laaker turned to hyping a good cause with a special incentive in an open letter to the site’s large reader base.

To my esteemed colleagues and potential philanthropists:

My wife, Carrie, is running a marathon here in less than 3 weeks as a fundraiser for leukemia research in honor of her deceased grandmother. She’s been getting some really generous donations from a lot of folks (some of which may include the likes of you on this list), and she’s almost there towards reaching her goal (each runner must raise at least $2800 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to participate in the run).

As of press time here, she needs about $250 more to reach this goal. And for those who are interested in helping out, she’s kindly offered my services as an incentive in the form of a drawing for prizes. Every $104.80 donation (aka $4/mile) gets you into the pool for a Laaker.com tote bag containing a surprise gift, and every $52.40 donation ($2/mile) plops you into the running for a Laaker.com coffee mug.

So, if you’re a reader of Laaker.com, and you’re as disappointed as most with its abysmal track record at releasing press releases on a dependable basis under my reign, you’re probably gonna want to be jockeying for some of this high class, scarce merchandise to show your disdain.

If you can, please consider donating for a good cause. Or for some schwag. Whichever your prefer. You can donate and/or learn more online.

Winners of the drawing will be announced here on the site, so be sure to check back daily (or monthly… but preferably hourly) to find out who becomes the lucky winner. In the meantime, thanks for your time and help.

Respectfully,
Micah Laaker
Interim CEO, Laaker.com
