Interesting list..thanks. Really, the only things on the list that I've heard of are CD FInder, Photoshop and, of course, the most used video plug in; Flip4Mac. I probably devote more time to F4M related tasks than anything else. The encoding from the the Studio version is great. And you might check out their new DVD imaging app; HERE

SVG is XML, and has quite some overlap in functionality with Flash.
Which is close to, but not the same as your description.

Firefox, the browser you advise, can also render SVG by itself, not all, as it’s a partial implementation at the moment, but quite a lot. Opera implements a bigger part actually. And the (imminent?) next version of Safari will be pretty good as well, i’m told.

For your design section you might want to look at Inkscape.
